You’re in for an experience…it won’t be good but you’ll be glad you did it and glad it’s over.
Fans are trash dbags. You’ll see nothing but Tebow jerseys, jorts, really hot girls and inbred looking dudes. It’s weird..the girls are fine but the guys look like straight trash. Tons of opportunity if going with a bunch of bachelors.

Not a fun trip. Pay 20 bucks to park in a frat house yard. Don’t carry an open container on campus.

Don’t go. Gainesville is awful

Based on my experience, if you sit directly behind the goalposts, pay attention during field goal warmups. It really hurts to get hit in the face by a 40-yard field goal.
That was the highlight of the trip.

Will never go back - make 2 road trips a year - Gainesville failed on every front - if you bring family/children the on campus tailgating is nonexistent - so you go to the row of bars with shot girls all over - bad for family environment - if you make it an all guys trip - it’s the same but the shot girls are not worth it - it is a tinker toy stadium - I have loved almost every road trip and have made them multiple times but will never go back there

It really might be the bottom of the barrel as far as SEC stadiums/experiences. I’ve been to every SEC stadium besides Missouri and Texas 8&4. I’ve been to Gainesville 3 times and it’s very meh, but worth scratching off a bucket list.
ETA: The cops in Florida are absolutely looking to pull over Louisiana plates that weekend! You will see many cars pulled over on the way home.

Everytime we go, we make it just a day trip. Fly in 2 hours before the game and then fly out immediately after. Literally we only go to watch the game in person

I used to think Tennessee and, Neyland Stadium had the worst fans in the SEC … then I went to a Florida game in Gainesville.

The worst experience I’ve ever encountered at a road game. And I did it twice! It’s never too late to cancel. Believe me, you will regret it.

Worst road trip in the SEC I’ve taken (been to all except Vandy and Mizzou). Just the worst experience I’ve ever had as a visiting fan from the fans, the campus cops, and the stadium “security”
Not sure what to tell you, some UF fans claim that it was a past President of the university that forced the police to “crack down” on tailgates/opposing fans and it doesn’t happen anymore but I refuse to spend any more money to try.
Don’t plan to tailgate with any kind of “drinking games” (cops will constantly harass), don’t plan to walk around with a drink (saw so many tickets written for fans who stepped from grass on to sidewalks), sit in your seat and never stand or talk to or interact with any UF fans in the stadium (the cops/game security were constantly kicking LSU fans out of the visiting section for “not listening” to their BS commands after “complaints” from the Florida fans).
After seeing how much fun it is to go to Athens, Lexington, Knoxville it’s a shame LSU has to visit that shithole every other year

I have gone to Gainesville and had a decent time. Flew into Jacksonville and rented a car. I actually stayed somewhere in Gainesville. Brought the car in and parked it on a lot on campus the night before and ubered back to the hotel. The next day we ubered back to campus so we were able to tailgate from the car and drive it back to the hotel after the game. Call campus and see if that is still allowed.
Steer clear of big groups of Florida fans partying or you will get fricked with. There’s a row of restaurants and bars across from the stadium for some good places to hang out as well. As the others say, don’t bring any alcohol outside or you will be arrested.
Honestly, flori\da fans are pretty bad…..but nowhere near as bad as I have seen our fans treat visiting fans.

We payed twenty bucks to park in the frat lot, and had a good time. We hung out there, drank, met some nice people, and never had anybody bother us over open containers. The entire time before the game we were thinking, “UF isn’t as bad as people say…”
They beat us that year, and walking out of the stadium was an entirely different experience, and you can see why Gainesville has its reputation. Their fans were awful. We were like, “Let’s get the hell out of here before something bad happens.” It’s a strange place, but I don’t regret going. It’s worth seeing at least once.
I thought Ben Hill Griffin was a cool stadium. Good atmosphere. It was about as loud as Jordan-Hare. If it is a 2pm kickoff, and you are sitting in the LSU section, wear your sunscreen, because the sun will be pointing directly at you for the entire game.

Whenever we kick their arse, make their fans never forget it.
