I see everyone on the rant and some on here that keep putting burns on our expected roster for next year. Everything I’ve read has basically said he’s probably not coming here or to the sec. Did something change?

I don’t like it short term or long term. It’s too many parts coming in at once with not enough stability. Don’t think it is a recipe for success. Need to have some program guys and pick up on 5-6 portal targets that will fill needs or make a difference. For LSU I feel that is the recipe short term and long term. Still need younger guys to develop like the freshman class at LSU now.

Speaking of black outfielders the kid I'd like to see us get is Montgomery from Stanford! Hoping he goes into the portal soon after the USA baseball is over.

Vandy, LSU, and TCU seem to be the final 3. Last I heard he was waiting on LSU to hire a pitching coach to talk to him. So if that is true, seems LSU is still in the mix. Wouldn’t be waiting around if not interested.
Could be waiting on the draft to see who is gone from each team after the draft also.

He hit .260 and .250 in respective years. About 10 bombs per year which isn't awful but he's definitely nothing to write home about.

Not sure how to date it, but Gage Jump (UCLA) is following lsu baseball on Twitter. I think we are the only other college program he follows outside of UCLA. Might want to rejoin Hurd and win another Natty

Hope we hear something today. After last year it feels like we should half the best players in the portal on the team by now . Last years portal haul was just so amazing that it’s gonna be hard to duplicate that

I shouldn’t do this to myself but I’m starting to get my hopes up for Cam Johnson. Keith Law rated him at #71 in his latest top 100. For a guy that, at one point, had first round aspirations in addition to all the talk of him being a project, maybe he comes to campus to try and prove himself

Jonhson’s going to take anything over 1.2 million from everything I’ve heard. That basically puts the cutoff around the end of the second round.
There’s definitely hope and things can fall apart between negotiations but at this point it’s best to assume he signs and be very happy if he doesn’t.
