Had a Windstar, every aspect of it was totally worn out at 85,000 miles.

My family had that exact Aerostar. We loved it but it was in a constant state of about to explode. Hardly ironic it was marketed with a space shuttle.

Former Astrovan owner. Great vehicle. Rear wheel drive. 4.3 liter V6. Massive amounts of cargo room especially in the extended version. Could easily fit 4x8 sheets of plywood. Could even load my Bayou 220 atv in the back.

We bought this van in the 80s to replace our VW van. I begged my mom all the time to paint it and lights like the A-Team van.

Ford Windstar

I forget the year, maybe like an 06, but this was the car I learned to drive in, and used for the driving test to get my license.

Played a big role in the decision to get an Odyssey later.

I have an early 2010’s Odyssey that I bought during the height of the pandemic with 120k miles. Paid cash, been maintenance free. I changed spark plugs myself a few weeks ago after the check engine light came on. Now she is at 190k. I am hoping to get another 100k miles before buying something again. Hopefully, the car market gets back to normal in a few months or the next year.

My wife drove a Previa for 15 years, 395000 miles. Only changed oil, tires, filters, batteries and 1 sliding door track. Never left us anywhere but where we wanted to go. Went to the top of Pike's Peak and down without stopping, while numerous other vehicles were out of breath or overheating brakes on the way down. Great van....raised 3 kids with plenty of room and reliability. Had 50/50 F/R weight distribution and handled fantastic. After my wife got the SUV bug, I drove it for another 80000 miles to work and back. Finally gave it to my handicapped brother in Alabama, he drove it for another 75000 miles and blew a head gasket. He pawned it for $800. Could have killed him for that.

My name is on the title of one of these abominations. It’s not a terrible vehicle and it hauls my brood safely, but I hate it.

Just surrender to it man. Safe is sexy when you have a family. Ease of operation, the ability to reconfigure in seconds, the comfort level.

I went from 3 passengers to 4 for vacation the other day and had more gear than I planned.

7 seconds later I had the. Back row down. 30 seconds after that I had the middle seat installed between the captains chairs (such comfort) in the first row. Plus all the gear and sundries.

She sips gas, she rides smooth, and I don’t have to worry about pinched fingers.

She’s a dream to drive and that’s what matters to me. Safety and versatility

Sliding doors on the side of the van was real important to my wife when the kids were little. I don’t remember why.

I asked and she said she wanted sliding doors because the kids would open the other doors and hit the car next to them.

We have three kids and our last two family cars have been mini- vans.

I secretly like the functionally of a mini van and as we transition to empty nesters I may miss the van.

Nothing can beat the functionality of a minivan.

I used a Honda Odyssey:

1. Wife drove carpools
2. Family trips
3. Remodeling two houses
4. Cross country road trip with an inflatable mattress inside.
5. Hauling bags of topsoil and mulch
Etc

It’s great. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.

As far as mini vans go The lumina was ahead of it’s time. Didn’t it have a built in air compressor?

Nicest one I can remember though was a Chrysler town and country. 30k brand new 20 years ago.
