What's so bad about their recruiting? It doesn't look that bad to me. Are they really expecting a bunch of 5 stars to come piling in? Florida hasn't been good since Will Muschamp led them to an 11-win season.

I think JC was playing the long game, he figured if he does get hired, he would have the in with the head football coach. On top of that, he did fanboy for him.....

He had success at a lower conf school which led to an offer big time power conference program. It appears he didn’t need to “prove himself at a small/medium P5 school” to get a major job.
It seems like he worked his way up the ladder just fine. Position coach>coordinator>lower tier D-1 HC >Power conf HC. Whether he will have success at Florida remains to be seen. But it’s a bit ridiculous so say he refused to work his way up the ladder. Should he have turned down Florida to take a job at Washington St in hopes of one day getting a job at Florida?
