Go watch some tape, Sol. He looks identical to Herb.

I didn’t mean he’ll be at that level, just the way they play.

Daniels is way more aggressive and much more of half court playmaker than Lonzo, and his length and size is comparable to Lamelo. Defensively is way closer to Lonzo than Lamelo. Should’ve clarified

Defense.
He does need to improve his 3% by 40% or so.

Daniels big difference from Lonzo in the half court is his PnR ability and his floater game.

He’s more like Brogdon or Halliburton in that regard. Both are big strengths.

He lacks that explosive first step, not an elite handle, and probably won’t ever have either, but given how BI and Zion are also our playmakers, he fits in that Spurs type mold of everyone moves the ball and playmakes and if he can learn to shoot, he’s gonna be a part of this team for a long time

Well that and he needs to learn to finish with his left hand. Finding a highlight where he moves to left and scores with his left is tough.

But the Pels don’t need scoring from him next season. A defensive ball handler who can make FTs, open 3 and threaten in the paint is a good player to get.

I do like his defensive versatility. Plenty of guys on the team can put the ball in the basket. Strong defenders to compliment BI and Zion will go a long way in the postseason. Daniels assist numbers are good enough to suggest he won't be a liability on offense even if he isn't comfortable shooting yet.

His shot form looks better aesthetically than Herb does even - I don’t see why it can’t be a weapon in time.

You would think some of you guys didn’t watch a second of playoff basketball.

Dyson is already a plus defender that can defend 1-3, He is the drafts best 1-on-1 defender and he’s really good off ball. A playmaker off ball with his length, instincts, and IQ.

Offensively I think he’s fluid with the ball in his hands, probably a bit unselfish to a fault but has really good vision, instincts, all the stuff I said about him defensively. If you know anything about the Ignite this season for him to average 4.5 assists is a fantastic feat. Excellent extra pass guy on the perimeter. He just has really good anticipation and sees the game a pass ahead. I think he has a really nice ceiling in the PnR as well because of his passing plus his ability to finish at the rim and get his floater off, which is also a good tool of his. Needs to improve form three, but we knew that.

He can grab and run in transition, but can also fill the wing and finish above the rim. Does a great job turning defense into offense. Drafts best outlet passer as well.

Put it this way, if Dyson had shot it 39% from three and had a pull up jumper, he’d be in the conversation for top 4 because he’d be the best two way guard prospect in years.

If Vinson can pull some Lonzo magic with him, Dyson is gonna be one of the most coveted two way connector players in the league

Nice that this pick has attracted some dedicated trolls. Somehow makes me feel even better about him.

Second best shuttle at the combine in the last two years(would have been the best last year), lane agility the same as Scottie Barnes.

I was just comparing Dyson to Herb defensively.

His shooting form looks textbook. He just didn’t get consistent results outside. I think Vinson will fix his outside/perimeter issues in time.

I know you never post so this might be news to you, but we have the greatest shooting coach in the league, probably of all time
