Another not mentioned is Pretending. There were some great 80’s releases by EC.

The guy's catalog of singles goes 20 deep easily, similar to Elton and Billy Joel.

(Top 10 songs in order)
Layla is a top 5 all timer for me
Wonderful Tonight - beautiful tune
Promises
I can't stand it
Tears in Heaven - heartbreaking song
Forever Man - underrated song
Lay Down Sally
Change the World
After Midnight
Cocaine

I must admit, I like a lot of his covers. One I rarely see mentioned is Before You Accuse Me. But I like every version of that song, Bo Diddley and CCR are the others I know of. Interestingly enough, the song was a B side of a single for both Bo Diddley and Eric Clapton. No single for CCR, album only.

I have a really hard time deciding which I like best. Layla is always up there.

I love Cream but Jack Bruce's vocals is as big a part of why as is Clapton. I did a dive to see which songs Clapton sang lead on, he sang lead vocal on ‘Four Until Late’, ‘Outside Woman Blues’, ‘Strange Brew’, ‘Anyone for Tennis’, ‘Crossroads’ and ‘Badge’, and was co-lead vocal on ‘Sunshine of Your Love’. ‘Strange Brew’, ‘Anyone for Tennis’, ‘Crossroads’, ‘Badge’, and ‘Sunshine of Your Love’ are all great songs to me.

Tears in Heaven is hard for me to listen to. It's a powerful song but, as a father, it just rips me up inside. I guest that is an indication of how good that song is.

Wonderful tonight, beautiful song.

Dang I just like Clapton

I saw Clapton in Austin in September. I knew going in that the setlist was heavy on blues/light on hits.

I am sure hard core blues fans loved it, but I would have loved to hear Rock and Roll Heart or Bell Bottom Blues,
