Don’t you have some steroids to shoot in your arse?

I was guestamating in my head. I could tell you the exact average, it’d take me an hour or so to get the exact cost. I’m not going to do it, so frick off. My $10 estimate is pretty close.

Exactly. This is a much better place when he is banned.

I enjoy your auction finds and sells. Keep them coming. I could care less how much you make or how much time you have in it.

Old Ping Eye 2 irons sell in that range all day. When people ask me what kind of clubs to buy because they are thinking about starting to play, I tell them an old set of Ping irons. You just won’t lose money on them.

Depending on the condition, they're worth more than that.

By a good amount.

About 10 years ago, I found a set of Black Dots and a set of King Cobras at Goodwill for $25 each.

I took them to the driving range a few times to figure out which ones I felt most comfortable hitting - landed on the King Cobras.

Walked into the "pro shop" at the range and traded the black dots for a nice set of matching Cleveland wedges and a nice set of woods... and $250 cash.

It was years (not until I bought a new driver) before I had a piece of golf equipment that cost more than my bag.

Cobras are still running strong, and so are the wedges.

You did good considering the condition. At least 2 of the irons had useless grooves. Non- matching set. No SW.

Incorrect, it is a matching numbered set except the 4 iron.

What’s your best advice for shipping? I sold a bunch of clothes and took them to the pack and ship store and it ate up so much profit.

Any tips? Do you charge flat shipping in the auction or calculate based on zip code? I know most “free shipping” auctions get more hits. But just curious how you mitigate your bottom line as best as possible.

I charge shipping based on zip code. I wouldn’t say “free shipping” auctions get more hits, it’s just they sell for more, but it’s a wash. You can either sell an item for $100 plus $20 shipping, or sell the exact same item for $120 with free shipping.

Charging shipping on eBay really doesn’t matter because eBay considers it all income.

If you are selling stuff on eBay and shipping is eating up your profit, you are selling the wrong stuff.

Dude it's $10K, no one is impressed. I make that gambling every football season, I don't brag, because no one cares.

I rarely find something that doesn’t have sold comps, but when I do, I’ll just figure what I have in it and go from there. The movie poster was just a fluke. There were no comps, and I kind of wanted to keep it, so I started it at $500, thinking I’d get a couple $200-$300 offers. There is a movie poster group on FB. I posted it there just to try and get some information on it (not for sale). Those guys have serious collections. The only help I got from them is it had ties to Hitchcock, due to the one actress in the movie that also starred in “Rear Window”. Hitchcock movie posters being $1000’s, so that’s how I came up with $500.
I think if I had started it at $1000, the single bidder would have bought it. He really wanted it. The auction ran a week and he bid on it at the last moment, the only bidder. I had it as “local pick up only”, and he was the one that wanted it shipped, knowing it would be $400 to ship.

Flat rate boxes are dumb to use for clothing because clothes don’t weigh that much. A medium flat rate box is $15 postage. Two shirts or a pair of jeans weigh probably two pounds. Priority postage for two pounds is about $9. You are wasting $6. You can buy boxes at Walmart for $1 each.
There are flat rate envelopes, which maybe good for clothing, I’m not sure what the postage is on them. I’ve never used them.

Flat rate is only good for small, heavy things. I sold the silverware the other day. They weighed nearly 10 pounds. Priority postage on 10 pounds was $30+ dollars. They fit into a flat rate box, and the postage was $15.

Start you a thread about your gambling and see if it goes 6 pages over two days. I sure do get a lot of replies on all my garage sale threads, considering “no one cares”.
