I’ve never ever clicked on one of antiques thread.Ms. I’ve always seen his weekend haul threads etc just never interested me.

Why are people coming in here bad mouthing him?

This is an intriguing thread.

I would suggest that you don’t bid on his shite if you have a problem with his shipping prices. If you don’t plan to, what difference does it make to you?

I would suggest you reread what I said to understand it, dumbass.

i'm not bad mouthing him. he's semi bragging about what he makes, i'm just making a note of how time consuming his hobby is. time is money.

One factor you are not seeing is my shipping discount.
Let’s say they shipping above is $12. That was generated through eBay’s shipping calculator, and if I had brought the item to the post office and paid for postage, it would have been $12.
But I pay all my postage through eBay and eBay gets a discount with USPS/FedEx/UPS. The discount is anywhere between 15-50%.
There was something that the calculator said would have been over $70 for postage through FedEx. I did my postage through eBay and got a 52% discount. I did pass some of the savings back to the buyer, but I kept some.

The point is you need to know how much you are paying in shipping. You currently have no idea. On just these items you are probably leaving over $1k of deductions against your revenue on the table.

ebay's shipping discount is a raquet. they charge fees on their shipping cost and the taxes etc. it is what it is, but that discount isn't all cash to your pocket.

That was kind of the point of this thread and many threads on the OT. Some people feel the need to reply on every thread just because the thread exists.
Most of my garage sale find threads, there’s always the same hand full of people that reply the same thing, junk, worth nothing, trash, house smells, etc. They just reply negative shite just to try and get a ride out of me and others.
This thread is just to show them how stupid they are.
My garage sale find threads probably average 4 pages each, well above the average thread, and most replies are positive or just questions about the items I found.
If my find threads only generated a couple replies, I wouldn’t make them, but they generate many positive replies, and Hell, even the Negative Nancy’s help by bumping the thread.

I do know exactly how much I’m paying in shipping, I get a monthly invoice breakdown from eBay on every single item (sold price, shipping taken in, postage spent, & eBay fees). Postage/packing is my biggest expense, other than the actual money spent on the items.

Plus, I get a monthly invoice from BR packing, on every penny I spent.

And I keep all receipts for boxes and other supplies I may buy at Walmart, etc.

I would say the average shipping cost per item is less than $10.

Because they're, jealous little ankle biters with nothing really going on in their own life. They hate seeing anyone succeed.

I know several folks who do this and make good money. They seem to really enjoy it. I suck at it.

You are just a piece of shite, like most say on this board.

Don’t you have some steroids to shoot in your arse?

I was guestamating in my head. I could tell you the exact average, it’d take me an hour or so to get the exact cost. I’m not going to do it, so frick off. My $10 estimate is pretty close.

Curious. How do you calculate shipping before auction ends?

eBay has a calculator that does that. I just put in the weight and size of the box, and maybe add a couple dollars for supplies, and the calculator does the rest.

Dude you'd kill it if you did this full time. I do it full time and make between 18k-22k every 90 days gross. But I go all over the south thrifting, buying amazon pallets, going to small city auction houses, etc. I think with your knowledge and the Baton Rouge thrifting market you'd bring home 30k gross a quarter.

This thread was more enjoyable when you were just sharing your weekend excursions. You have allowed the trolls to get you to tout your success at the sale.

I will now ignore your threads. You should have ignored the detractors.

Used to have a coworker who did local garage sales and she had a vacation house on the beach in Oregon, and collects sea glass. She does it full time now, has a shop that she opens in summer and makes good money.

I listened to her shopping routine one day and it was way too much for me. Its not easy work. I couldn't believe what people pay for that stuff though.

The shipping sucks arse. I probably go through 1500 ft of bubble wrap a week. I make good money on a very niche item, but it has to be wrapped extremely well or UPS/FedEx will break it in transit.

She sells most of her stuff in the shop, saves having to ship.

Mainly cruise ship tourists. I'm blown away by how much stuff she sells though. People will buy anything.
