Wade will eventually be a victim of his own success because the standard will change based on prior results. The leash isn’t forever but any reasonable fan should be excited about where we are considering the previous decade of shite basketball

Well he has met this so far. By standards an elite 8 run would be next year.
The one caveat to this is he getting the maximum potential out of his players? This is less about this year and more about last year with Thomas, Watford, and Smart. This year with Miller out, early they exceeded expectations then late seemed to regress. Regression in a session is usually one or both of two things injuries or coaching.
If Wade coached team kicks arse next year, I will be the first to say extend him. I’ll really sit neutral on Wade till then but his teams undisciplined play will continue to frustrate me.
