May 1 deadline for portal transfers...

May 1 is the signing deadline for portal transfers to be eligible for the 22' Season. Trying to figure out how much time we'll have after we've established what positions we need most.
Does anybody have a clue about a time frame for Spring Practice/Spring Game?

That’s for fall sports. Winter and spring are July 1.

It’s a good rule that will settle rosters after the spring practice window moves end.
Now the NCAA needs to restrict the portal further. There need to be defined entrance and exit windows that don’t conflict with ESD or NSD. That will at least make the chaos manageable.

Are players now required to register through the portal which acts as a clearing house? Or could a player who wants to transfer in August just contact schools independently and negotiate his own transfer?

You have to enter the portal.
And you can transfer anytime. The deadline is for immediate eligibility.

Or there any plans after this year to issue a one year sit out after transfer? Because I seriously think this needs to happen

Seems like it would still be the rule on a second transfer after using the free one.

Spring game I believe is usually sometime in early to mid april.

May 1st for fall and winter sports and July 1st for spring sports if athletes want to compete in the next season.
