It's funny because I've had a DVR since the early, early 2000s when DirecTV partnered with Tivo, so skipping commercials has been ingrained in me for decades now.
In spite of this, I will go down a vintage commercial compilation rabbit hole on YT in a heartbeat.

Att Lily is long past annoying and apparently a horrible count on social media but the newish one with her and some other woman on the plane whining about paying extra for a meal. why are AT&T and Apple throwing shade at discount airlines? Did the recent college grads that pitched this campaign have a bad experience on Sprint or something?

So many bad commercials on the air right now. I really can’t stand the one with the three old ladies that go sledding. Come on, man. You know they gonna die doing that. It’s like “I bought these cushions so we could end it all. Now. Today. Suicide pact.”

Pharma commercials are so fricking horrible. One element is the side effects spiel, anal bleeding? REALLY?
Why do they have to state all the side effects when the drugs require a prescription wherein the physician discloses these things?? Why.

The Amazon “Dales Farm” commercial with the dancing Lamas. That thing must’ve run 10 millions times in the last month.

Anything now a days that involve a black man and white woman couple in a commercial. It got to eye rolling proportion now and I'm not even white!

I just have a hard time imagining being even slightly put off by a commercial. I barely register their existence.

Why does that bother people more than other interracial combinations?

i actually respect interracial couples, but the ones on tv feel fake and forced.
almost every single commercial on cable tv starts off with a black person. sometimes i wonder if it's a requirement or something. it doesn't matter what the product is. it does not upset me, but it is noticeable to see 4 different commercials in a row lead with a black person. and it's this way on every single channel. i miss older commercials where things weren't forced and felt more natural. and that was with all different ethnicities.
and then there are these comedy commercials where the black guy is always the smart one and the white character is the dumb one. it would be nice to see more balance here.
movies are the same way. so many forced characters just to check a box, but often those characters are terrible and unnecessary. and i'm someone who loves older comedies featuring a diverse cast. the difference is they were talented, funny, and it felt natural. it would be nice to see a non comedy with a diverse cast where a black person is the main bad guy. mix it up.

The white husband, black wife combo bothers me but only because that's the most statistically rare of all of them, but the most frequently featured in commercials.
