I’m amazed how popular this book series is. I gave it a try and just don’t get it. I made it halfway through words of radiance before tapping out…. I didn’t like the characters nor the story, kaladin and dalinar are predictable cookie cutter pious protagonists and I find both jasnah and Shallan very annoying.

Szeth was cool but didn’t get enough of him to keep me interested.

The whole bridge carrying thing got extremely repetitive and tiresome. It was hardwork trying to get through that routine

The original Mistborn is the worst of all of his Cosmere series.

Its complete amateur hour when you go back and read it years later.

I also saw a spoiler on who Brandon intends to be the 5 viewpoint characters for Era 2, and they are pretty interesting.

Yeah I've seen the five Brandon intends to be. Very interested in those

If I wanted to introduce someone green to fantasy, mistborn is the series I would put them on first. It’s perfect in this role

I like the 2nd Mistborn SO much more now as an adult.

Wax & Wayne might be my favorite series of all time. Wayne is just a perfect foil to Wax. Even Steris grew on me after SOS.

Wayne was awesome, esp if you listened to the audiobook. Narrator did a great job with him.

I just prefer the more medieval setting of the first trilogy. Maybe it’s bc I listened to the audiobook instead of reading it but the prose did not seem any different than Sanderson’s usual stuff.

Same. I’m moderately interested in Taln and Jasnah but the rest I’m not so sure about

As for the theory in the OP: I love this theory, especially because it’s confirmed that Chana appeared in the first two books. Super spicy.
