He basically dropped some bullshite that he’s still writing and editing “almost everyday” in a July update.

I think the vibe is the last books are finished and will be released after is death. He will flush out other storylines within the universe up to that point. The brand needs sold like Star Wars was to really push out content. When it's tied to one mind, they get writers block and can't produce.

I think Rothfuss is even worse than Martin personally.
Dude supposedly actually wrote all 3 books or at least large outlines before he was ever published. He wrote an amazing book, and then a disappointing follow up, and now hasn't released a main series novel in over a decade. He's totally stuck as a writer and can't figure out how to finish at all.
AND...he show great disdain regularly for his fans. He literally hates them and isn't afraid to show it.

Agreed. Lost me when he wanted to bitch about fans asking about the next book. Even openly mocking them. Ignoring the fact that a lot of the things he enjoys (the cons, his movie theater, his freedom to write other things) are largely because of the money fans put into ASOIAF and GoT.
He can frick off.

What? That is not the vibe at all.
I mean GRRM himself has confirmed that's not true. Things we know for certain:
1. At his current pace, he is 5 years away from finishing TWOW
2. ADOS is supposed to be an even bigger book than TWOW
3. He did little to nothing with TWOW during a pandemic where he was cooped up inside his house for a large portion of it
4. He is more concerned about side projects and TV shows than he is ASOIAF
5. He is 75 and morbidly obese, which doesn't exactly help with his life expectancy
6. The IP dies with him and he's not letting another author finish the story
The best case scenario at this point is that we get TWOW. The 7th book is never happening.
Which really is sad because it is a brilliant series. I truly believe it's one of the three best fantasy series of all time. And I think he fails to realize that fans would be happier with a disappointing ending than they would no ending at all. I'd be much more satisfied with a "meh" ending than I would no ending at all. There is no way his ending is as bad as the shows, so it's not like even a mediocre ending is going to tarnish the series.

You are correct. At least Martin is trying to work on his shite and empathizes with his fans. Roth fuss appears completely lost and doesn’t give any fricks.
Also, your comment on the second book is interesting. It’s probably better than the first book and I feel like almost everyone that has read them would say as much. Not hating on you at all, I’m just interested in why you think it’s disappointing.
