Former Mississippi State quarterback Mike Wright is transferring to Northwestern, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.

Wright played three seasons at Vanderbilt before transferring to Mississippi State last offseason. He appeared in 12 games with three starts for the Bulldogs, throwing for 453 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 324 yards with three rushing touchdowns.

Smart kid. The NFL is not in the cards. He was at a great school in Vandy, then transferred to Starkville Community College. Now is back at a great school with a quality degree.
