The No. 1 golfer in the world was led away in handcuffs Friday morning as he attempted to drive onto the ground of Valhalla Golf Club. According to a report from ESPN, Scottie Scheffler attempted to drive around traffic formed after a man was struck and killed by a shuttle bus earlier in the morning. Per ESPN...
quote:

A police officer instructed Scheffler to stop, but Scheffler continued to drive about 10 to 20 yards toward the entrance.

At one point, an officer attached himself to the side of Scheffler's car. Scheffler stopped his car as he turned into the entrance of Valhalla Golf Club.

After about 20 to 30 seconds, Scheffler rolled down his window to talk to the officer. The officer grabbed Scheffler's arm to pull him out of the vehicle, according to Darlington. The officer reached inside the vehicle to open the door, and once Scheffler was pulled out, he was pushed against the car and placed in handcuffs.

There are decent cops but I find that most are lifelong losers now on a power trip.

Is this a law and order thing or does this have something to do with Louisville being full of completely incompetent morons. I believe the underlying cause is education, or lack their of

It's an election year so soon enough we should have something that will incite some sort of racial protest and BLM dominating the headlines up until the election is over. Then they'll disappear for another 3.5 years.

Seems typical for cops. Nobody usually cares when this happens, so why now is it such a shame and disgrace???

You're a dumbass for not supporting the police. It was a fatal wreck that he tried to drive around! What if that dead person was your child, wife, mother or father, would you still feel the same? You're a POS!

Funny there is zero mention of this in the media reporting, just that he’s the #1 golfer in the world!

And yet they ignore "urban youths" on dirt bikes popping wheelies on public streets.

The cops are the #1 cause of crime in 2024.

Well, Violent Pelvic Thrust, let me try to explain. The cops aren't ensuring law and order anymore. It's not even close. Vagrancy, obscenity, petty theft, reckless driving, etc. are largely normalized.

And yet if I were to go down to a nearby bum encampment and do what I'd like to do - chase them off at bayonet-point and burn their shite up, so that my daughters and I don't have to smell their urine on a hot day - the cops would be all over *me*. I'm a basically decent but frustrated good citizen who still plays their little game (for now at least), so they're still Johnny Law commandos towards me.

And Scheffler is the same. He has a productive future and a place in society to protect, so he tolerates the lawlessness around him and occasionally even ends up on the wrong end of the police baton when the cops (still being cops at heart) decide to scratch their cop itch and do a little "law enforcement theater."

It's BS and we be better off without the cops. It wouldn't be great, but it'd be better than this. Case in point ^^^

I usually try to give cops the benefit of the doubt, but good lord this was handled so poorly.

Yeah of course you give them the benefit of the doubt...it takes some ho hum stuff like this for you to care? Ridiculous.

The assault charge is bullshite. Cops seem to make up assault charges out of the air sometimes. He clearly didn’t see the guy and was trying to just drive to the golf course for a major tournament. Cops lose people’s respect with this type of silly bullshite.

When law and morality contradict each other, the citizen has the cruel alternative of either losing his moral sense or losing his respect for the law. ~ Frederic Bastiat
