Florida offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton had left Billy Napier's staff in Gainesville to join the Washington Commanders as an assistant offensive line coach.
Stapleton was one of Napier's original hires when he landed the Florida head coaching job in 2022, bringing him along from Louisiana at Lafayette.
