This one was poetic - he makes his best plays when their backs are to the wall, and this time it was literal.

I know it’s hard, but just admit you are wrong and move on. 11 downvotes that disagree so far is probably a good sign that you’re wrong.

Its not so much that he's wrong, its just that he chose to shite on a kid that made an outstanding play that saved a run if I'm not mistaken (guy on first may have had a shot if that ball is misplayed as it easily could have been).

This thread was started just to simply point out a hell of a play, and Lester just HAD to shite on it. Same kid that has made multiple clutch plays including game 1 of the CWS last year that literally saved the game.

All while conveniently avoiding scrutinizing others who have played MUCH poorer defense and literally lost games this year.

Saying Josh pearson is below avg on defense is not trashing him or unfair to him.

Its an outright fabrication.
His clutch fielding and hitting is the reason he is playing.

IIRC, he fielded 1.000 last year.

Correct. In his freshman year he made 3 errors. This years he’s made 4 errors; I think 2 are at 2B and 2 in the OF. Pearson hustles and I think that is why we all like him so much. But I do not think he is an above average outfielder. He’s definitely better in the field than Larson. But if we are strictly talking defense, would you put him in over Kling, Brown, or Bingham. Bc it seems like JJ thinks of Kling, Brown, and Bingham as the better OFs based on defensive replacements.

He could have just settled under the ball yesterday. Made it look a lot harder than it was. He’s been below average on defense this year

You are objectively wrong.

He misplayed a pretty routine ball in left early in the Sunday Alabama game. Great catch against Ole Miss though.

For a kid that is normally not over the top on expressions and emotions, it was great to see the smile. Great play by an even better kid.
