Beat GA and you are in. 14 wins in SEC will separate LSU from 2 teams that will be stuck at 13 after day 1 in Hoover. That puts LSU at the #9 choice out of the SEC at worst.

Haven’t seen anybody mention SEC only getting in 8 teams this year.

I think we needed to beat Ole Miss 4 times this weekend

2 wins in SEC tournament is probably enough to earn a spot.

This may be a year where the fact we travel so we’ll pays dividends.

Florida is 28-26 thought and got swept by Missouri.

They have a good RPI but a sub 30 win team with a bad conference record isn’t ideal.

it sucks.

We just needed Florida to lose the series to a better team.

so basically you are saying that getting hot on the home stretch going 10-5 in conference play the second half of the season doesn't matter...even if other teams shite the bed the second half of the season? You could be right, as no one here knows, but if picking the best teams at this point and time is the goal, then I know LSU is playing like a team that is definitely top 30 in the country, if not top 25.

You are being a fan.

Starting 3-9 was a disaster and can't be ignored. If LSU gets in it will be close.

When I looked at it objectively before this series, I concluded that a sweep probably still wasn't going to be enough. It's cloudier now for me. I hope I was wrong.

This is the same song and dance every single year. Just sometimes it's talking about what we need to be a top 8, what we need to host, or this year what we need to make the tournament.

The rant will come together and say, "Sweep Ole Miss and then we are in."

Then after it happens there will be a group that breaks off and says. "No actually we need to win one more to be in." That group will melt if we lose and say the season is over.

Win Tuesday and there will be another group that says, "We need to win one more to be in." Lose and they melt.

It's this exact same thing every single year. Just the main topic changes.

Yes. You have a mix of blind optimists, blind pessimists, and objective thinkers.

And, NONE, of those groups are right all of the time.

Who are the 16 at-large teams behind LSU in RPI that are needed to knock LSU out of the field? And if you think they will ignore RPI in those 16 cases, why should we assume the other 13-17 SEC teams are in ahead of LSU because of RPI?

SOFT

Lmao what’s actually SOFT is looking at everything through purple and gold glasses and going “we LSU we should be in” instead of taking a step back and being a realist

LSU’s body of work against the top half of the league is poor also. The only difference is we faced the gauntlet in the first half of the season, UF faced it on the back half. Not trying to be negative, I want post season baseball more than anyone. Just trying to look at things without the purple and gold glasses on.

Yeah - that doesn’t sit well with the Kool Aid drinkers on here but you are 100% right. UF also had the #1 SOS in the country and Ole Miss was right there. That plays a factor. Them having to play UK AND UGA is more difficult than what LSU went through.

Then there is the head to head issue that sways to Vandy, Bama and UF over LSU.
Tenn
UGA
Arky
MSU
TAMU
UF
Bama
Vandy

It’ll be between LSU and SCe in my opinion for the last spot.

KPI matters as well but best UGA and UK at a minimum and MAYBE it will be enough. I have zero faith in the selection committee.

We have seen this play out before when LSU had a similar record and better RPI.

One of the biggest metrics the committee uses is "how have you played lately." LSU is far and away better than the other 13 win SEC teams.

LSU’s strength of record is 34, Florida’s is 50

We have more good wins than they do. The ONLY reason Florida is even up for discussion is their SOS.

Florida is 15-23 against Quad 1 and 2 teams. LSU is 18-18. They played more, but didn’t do any better. You’re rewarding scheduling, not results.
