Think we’re about 80% now. Win one game and it’s 100%

With bama looking like they gonna win there is a logjam of teams
It would be in lsu best interest to stick around in Hoover
If bama wins then I think lsu gets uga and that gives lsu a really good rpi opportunity
Uga may throw down since they are already in a good spot
That offense is scary though

Nothing is a lock - except the teams that are in the top 10.

LSU is in the NCAA tournament.

Reigning national champs.
36-20 overall.
Won 4 of last 5 SEC series.
Tied for 7th best record in SEC.

Don’t need to overthink it

To remove the sweat? It'll take two wins for me to be good and feel like they're definitely in.

I wouldn’t worry so much about the SEC tournament, I would worry about the mid-majors stealing a bid.

In 2021, LSU & Georgia finished 13-17 in the SEC, had almost identical RPI’s. Georgia beat LSU in Hoover and knocked LSU out of the SEC tournament. Well… LSU made the NCAA’s while Georgia sat at home.

LSU’s RPI was actually 13 spots higher than Georgia on selection day that year.

Where is RPI shown on that page? The post above shows that LSU was 13 spots higher. That's a pretty significant difference.

I’ll fall asleep easier and sleep more deeply if LSU has a better SEC Tournament showing than all of it’s fellow 13 & 17 teams.

Winning just 1 game means we go 1-2. Is that better than going 0-1? I honestly have no idea. I don't know how much they weigh SECT wins. No idea how much they weigh losses. Is it strictly about RPI? If so, is it possibly better to lose to Georgia to finish 35-21 or beat Georgia and lose the next 2 to finish 36-22?

I'm not conceding any games at all, I just don't love our pitching situation early next week. I'm not sure Jay wants to throw Jump before Thursday. Maybe he'll throw him and Holman a day earlier this week again, but he did it last week, too. It would give them an extra day of rest before the regional, though, so that may beneficial.

Just not sure how Jay manages this tournament. Go all out to try win it or use it to set up the staff for the regional.? Man, if we were 14-16, it'd be a lot easier. At 13-17, it's a balancing act. Will be interesting to see how he plays it.

I think you treat Tuesday like a midweek game and piece it together. Other team will probably do the same, so it’s your #3 against their #3. Then your Friday and Saturday starters go Wednesday and Thursday (6 days rest, since they pitched on Thursday and Friday the week before). After that it’s a crapshoot.
