They may just redshirt her

It’s a big blow. Hope she heals up with as little pain as possible

Our freshmen class and sophomore class would prob have an even bigger role replacing those routines. We will still be excellent but it’s just sad to see her go through all this. I know how hard Konnor has worked for all this and all the things she overcame to this point

It just breaks my heart because she finally found her joy. I’m in real tears for her. She wanted it so bad. I can’t even think about next year at this point.

Konnor wins bronze on beam. Kaliya ties for second on floor. Lexi seems unlikely to make Olympic trials at this point.

Kinda sad to see Trinity making so many mistakes compared to how good she was in college. Just shows even more how impressive Konnor’s routine was.

I've heard that her injury is an Achilles tear (unsure of severity without imaging) but surgery is expected. Full recovery is typically 9-10 months, 7-8 if you're being very optimistic. Each athlete responds to the operation and rehabilitation differently, so who knows if she will be available next season? No need to rush her though, redshirt her if she isn't ready for the postseason. Our freshmen should be able to fill in the holes no matter how amazing Konnor's routines are. On a side note, I hope she decides to go for LA 2028 because that beam set was beautiful. All my love and support is going out to Konnor right now.

Gutted for Konnor. She looked great yesterday in warmups and podium. Zeiss looked quite rough though, form wise. Her vault has really deteriorated and is basically tucked now. Is tucked 1.5 also a 10 start value?

I believe a tucked 1.5 is still a 10 SV but that could change next season. Lexi did look rough on vault and floor; however, I still think she can contribute on bars next year. Hopefully, the preseason treats her well and our staff can clean up her routines.

I think another thing to remember is that with less skills in a routine, it will probably be much easier for Lexi to be cleaner on bars

I can see Kaliya taking the lead off spot on floor next year. If not the lead off, then somewhere in the lineup in place of Konnor

I would love to see Jay try Aleah as the leadoff on floor and force the judges to do their job and judge a routine based on the routine itself and not punish it because of its spot in the lineup. With Aleah, it is gonna make them choose are they REALLY gonna deny the best floor in the nation high scores just because she is leadoff? or, because she is Aleah and has that rep now of being the best, will they judge correctly?

Konnor's floor last year is proof judges more or less hard cap the leadoff spot and don't give the early spots the scores it deserves. Her floor has been anchor worthy, yet her scores outside of the first week were she got a correct 9.975 were all way lower than they should be based on the merit of the routine.

Kaliya should probably be anchoring. Using her in leadoff is leaving money on the table.

Let kj anchor next year. She deserves it. Lincoln has a few years to anchor. Let kj get the dam 10’s she deserves!

I saw on Twitter where Konnor is asking if anyone has a video of her warming up her layout on floor. I guess they are wanting to see what went wrong during the progression of the layout. I also heard the surgery was to be on this past Tuesday. Has anyone else heard a recent update on Konnor?

Any thoughts about Florida taking Selena - my sense is with Konnor being out and then picking her up, they edge us out in the talent department next year.

However, I wonder if the Selena thing could backfire. If it really is an attitude thing as has been suggested by the stories surrounding it. There are other “A-list” athletes on that team that Selena will likely have to take a backseat too (eg Leighanne and Kayla). Not that she won’t do all around, but she won’t be THE star of that team.

Florida’s problem has never been talent…it’s the coaching. Talent wise she fits in but if what happened at UCLA is to believed, not sure she’s a culture fit.

I think it's pretty clear that our staff didn't want to take a chance on Selena. Even though we don't know the reason behind the dismissal, Jay stopped pursuing Selena in her high school recruitment (LSU was thought to be one of her top choices) so he must have a pulse on her character and situation. While Florida will be stacked next year, we will also have an amazing team. With Konnor's injury, I'm hoping Kiya comes back for another year if she has the option.

A mom in the Facebook groups who is well connected to pac 12 gym programs said Selena tried to transfer to LSU last year and LSU said no.

Also most of the Florida athletes are probably not on campus right now during her visit, I got to wonder how aware of or okay they were with her transfer (obviously coaches okayed it).

Everyone seems super supportive on her instagram post. Even Janelle McDonald liked it. I hope this is a fresh start for her and she has a great year.

Has anyone else heard the rumor that Kara Eaker has an apartment in Georgia but has had an issue with getting her credits transferred from Utah? I never thought about her going to Georgia. There are comments under the photo of Kara and Aleah. The SEC will be stacked with talent this year.
