Does Bryan Adams run over the chicken in this MTV video? ('This Time', 1983)

The incident happens right at the start (great tune, but yes, the original audio tape there is sluggish and annoying.)
Hit & Run?
Did Adams purposely swerve into the chicken? Did the chicken dodge cruel fate? (You might have to slo-mo the YT video settings to make a verdict.)
OR...was the chicken just daring the pick up truck to run him over, "Playing Chicken" as it were?
Nothing like 80s MTV videos to tell a story in 3-4 minutes...

Damn. Almost 40 fricking years have gone by.
