You know, I used to more, but I really enjoy studio stuff more now as it is just amazing to listen to what they were able to accomplish sonically.
I’ve heard musicians go off live, I need more nuance.

I used to.. Queen Live Killers was a regular... Allman Bros... Filmore East. Man.. They wore Frampton comes Ailve OUT. When i am learning a song quickly, I often check for live videos to see what I can pick up.

I don’t listen to live albums super often unless the quality is just absolutely incredible.

On the flip side, I WATCH a lot of live show videos.

Same these days. It's flipped now that there are endless shows to watch on YouTube. Been on a Nirvana kick the last few days.

School is such an underrated song that is miles better live.

An original pressing of Little Feat "Waiting for Columbus" in good condition is one of the best sounding live albums in existence.

If I could give more than one upvote, I would.

Peter Frampton - Frampton Comes Alive!

It is wild that he seemingly came out of nowhere, released a live album, took the world by storm and then evaporated.

That's another great live album, but he actually has a deep catalogue of studio stuff.
I understand what you are saying, and it's a shame that your take is pretty accurate as far as casual public perception.
Anyone who enjoys that double live LP should really dive into his studio albums. They will not disappoint.
Plus, as of a couple years ago, he is still touring.

Gilmour's Live in Gdansk is one of the best live recordings I have ever heard. IMO way better than Pulse.

One of my first and favorite was
The Live Adventures of Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper. Ancient, I know, but a real classic.

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense

I generally don't like live albums but this is a notable exception and the video is great as well. It's one of the rare examples of where I like the versions on the live performance better than the studio version.

Van Morrison - It’s too late to stop now

I like Van Morrison and will look into that one.

I don't know if it's an album or not but as an ELO fan I really enjoyed the video of Jeff Lynne's ELO: Wembly or Bust a lot more than I thought I would

As someone that likes jam bands now, yes I listen to mostly live now. A few I will add here that haven't already been mentioned but deserve a listen are are:

The Guess Who - Live at the Paramount

Grateful Dead - "Live Dead" or "Europe '72" (among a 1000 other recordings)

DMB - Live at Red Rocks

The Who - "Live at Leeds"

Nope, as usually the audio is not as great.

This is my issue. The production/audio quality is so variable, with Iron Maiden, Motorhead, etc., I accidentally put the wrong version of the live song in a workout playlist, and the disappointment is real.

I love the energy that can come from good ones, but there are so many bad ones. Youtube concerts are a different story, they're always filmed at River Plate, Hammersmith, etc. Crap, just thinking about it I'm probably going to be up until 0200 watching them.
