If you read the complete statement from the Sisters, apparently they didn't like Butker telling the young women graduates of Benedictine College that being a homemaker is one of the most important titles a woman can hold, Butker didn't say it was the most important title, he said one of the most important titles a woman can hold.

What Butker was trying to convey to the young women graduates is to not let anyone tell you that you're not successful or vitally important to the fabric of society by making a decision to be a homemaker vs chasing and climbing the corporate ladder in the corporate rat race, Butker isn't wrong.

If a man can provide for a family and allow the woman to stay home with the children for nurturing and influence, something they would never receive from a daycare provider that's a win for society. Butker was giving an opinion based on lived experience, there's likely good data that would support Butker's opinion. Anecdotal evidence is certainly in Butker's favor, look at society today compared to society in the 50's-70's and then ask yourself why society has degraded so much from that period to the society of today and you will see the destruction of the nuclear family goes lockstep with the degradation of society, particularly the destruction of the black family, where +70% of black children are born out of wedlock, many of these black children are deprived of a positive male role model.

I guess this ^^^^ went over the Sister's heads.

Probably had a lot to do with the export of 10s of millions of jobs chasing cheaper and cheaper labor.

Hard to maintain that type of society when the bedrock foundation of the middle class gets completely gutted.

The left acting like some liberal nuns disappointed in Harrisons speech is some big "gotcha"

This is the same TradCatholic vs woke Catholic war that's played out in every other Christian denomination

Wtf I'd kill to be a stay at home dad, especially in a nice house with a nice car. I'd be even more thrilled to provide this lifestyle for the mother of my children.

It's all perspective based on your political leanings.

If you're a Wokester/Dim/cultural Marxist/Leftist, there's little doubt ButtKicker's commencement speech triggered the shite right out of ya.

If you're moderately conservative, a clear and rational thinking person, then ButtKicker's commencement speech was filled with solid advice for any young couple wanting to raise responsible and decent future citizens.

Millions of women and men would like to be the stay at home parent so they can be the primary influence in their children's lives, unfortunately the materialistic desires promoted by our comsumer base society convinces parents that driving late model cars, owning a McMansion, taking lavish vacations, having the latest iPhone and tech gadgetry, etc. prevents them from living a more modest lifestyle that would allow them to leave one parent in the household.

If people are being propagandized into consumerism, they might not desire to be stay-at-home parents as strongly as you suggest.

Another victim of feminism. These orders are dying. Vocations are thriving in cloistered/contemplative orders.

I find it ironic that the most honored person in the church is a….MOTHER!
Thanks be to God, Mary embraced her roll as “mother”. You have to wonder if Mary lived today, would she be encourage to say “no” to motherhood, since it is so suppressive of women.

I worked from home for a year when my son was almost two and his mom wanted to go back to work. I loved it. Not many Dad's get to spend that type of time with their children and I think my son and I greatly benefited from that time together.

Only problem I had is that when I was with my son I felt like I was neglecting work and when I was working I felt like I was neglecting my son.

Eventually the wife grew to hate being away and she returned to being a "homemaker".

Nope, some of it was just dumb as dog shite no matter how you vote.

The rest of it only “triggers” you - or in your case, gets your weird little rocks off - if you listen to famous people, professional athletes, or religious zealots to form your opinions. (This fella is all three.)

Smart people try to avoid that.
