Over 10 years ago. Weren’t doing well at all and then won many consecutive games and tore up the SEC tourney?

2008… set up the 2009 run to a championship

I thought it was ‘09, the year they won the NC
Lost back to back games to TN, then Mainieri moved Lemahieu to 2nd and put Nola at short
Won 24 or so in a row

2008
Won 20something games in a row until the infamous UC Irvine hidden ball game in the Super Regional.

2008.....a phenomenal year. They absolutely sucked the first third of the season. They weren't going anywhere. Then the light bulb went off and they won 23 straight (I don't remember the exact number, but it was at least 23). I think they made it all the way to Omaha...but I could be mistaken. This was the year of Blake Dean, Ryan Schimpf, and Matt Clark. It was magical. The next year, they won the national championship. One of the best and most memorable years of LSU baseball.

Believe it was 22 straight. First loss was in Omaha in 2008

First loss was UC Irvine setting up the absurd game 2 dramatics.

It was 2008. I forget how many we won in a row but I remember we tied Georgia in the game before the streak. Then took the streak all the way to the super regional and lost game 1 and then won 2 and 3. I think in Omaha we went loss, win, loss. Then 2009 was amazing.
I hear a bunch of commentators saying that we had the streak en route to the championship, and that’s not true.

The loss in Omaha was to North Carolina to end the season. Game was tied and Louis Coleman gave up a grand slam late in the game. LSU could not recover.
Manieri convinced Coleman to come back and not let his college career end that way. Coleman recorded the final out to capture LSU 6th national championship the following year.
That 08 season changed a lot of things for LSU baseball. They wore their gold jerseys the rest of the season. I believe it was 26 game winning streak. Started after the tie against Georgia bc an inning could not start after 4 pm on a Sunday.

2008, 23 Games. Started after Georgia with a win over Tulane, and ended with the loss in the supers to UC Irvine.

I believe that was the year where we had a really good win over Rice in the first round of the CWS
