Been looking for the post game interviews but can't find anything except different tidbits from reporters. I know a lot of us have been wondering who we'd have available to pitch tomorrow after using some of our best arms out the pen already and not really having a set Sunday starter.

Yea, not too surprising. Kind of curious what Herring can give you, but I don't think he's thrown too many pitches this weekend to have any kind of fatigue.

I really hope Little can find he form from a couple weeks ago again, but I'm not too confident in that. Even if he can just put together an inning or 2 without giving up any runs, that'd be huge.

ETA - looks like Herring has only thrown 33 in his 2 appearances against Ole Miss. I'd say he's definitely in play to throw about 40 or so more, if needed.

What about the Reb's staff? Did anyone throw a lot of innings to where they can't pitch tomorrow? A possible starter? His stats?

You have to factor in warm-up pitches and similar.

It looks like Nichols may be their Sunday starter.

Nichols, Mason - ERA - 3.50, WHIP - 1.22, W-L Record: 4-1

And besides their starting pitchers being out, both of their relievers who threw Thursday threw 36 pitches each, so I'm guessing one or both might be available. They also used 3 relievers today. 2 that I'd guess might be able to pitch for them tomorrow, as they threw 22 and 9 pitches. The third reliever they used today threw 39 pitches so I'm guessing he's not available for tomorrow.

I say that not knowing how Bianco normally uses his pitchers and under the assumption that they'll be all hands on deck like us tomorrow.

Herring can give you an inning or come in to hold the rope.

You're right, I forgot he pitch pretty well yesterday. Only 1 hit but 3 Ks in 1 inning pitched.

I guess it'd be better said that if he does pitch tomorrow, I hope he's on again.

And today he was hot and cold. I'm pulling for the kid and want him to succeed. His first inning was great. He then walked two to start the next inning. That's not good.

That's my concern with Little. How much can you trust a pitcher that's been pretty inconsistent his career here in a game you need to win? His leash was short today and if he does pitch tomorrow, I imagine it'll remain very short.

My bad! Not trying to be too hard on Little. I'd love to see him go out and pitch multiple innings of shut out baseball tomorrow. I'm really pulling for the young man. He seems to be a great guy and when he's on, his stuff is some of the best on the staff.

I haven't been super-alert this week. Does Ole Miss have anything left to play for?

Sort of. A win tomorrow for them might affect SEC tourney seeding as they would have the same record as us in conference (12-18) and potentially Florida as well. Don't quote me on that because I don't know all the tie breakers and stuff, besides us having the series win over them. They won't make the postseason unless they win the SEC tourney.

More than anything, it's a rivalry series and if we win tomorrow, we'll probably make the tourney, so if nothing else, they could be playing the spoiler role against us.

ETA - I haven't checked on Bama or Vandy games today, but if either one of them lose the next 2 games, they could also be at 12-18. Before their games today, both are (were) 12-16. A lot still at stake in the SEC. Also, Florida is now 12-17 in conference play.

Who TF else would you rather after Ack and Herring? Some of you think we have a bullpen full of big leaguers.

Yes. Basically in the same bind we're in.

IMO, there's gonna be a pool of 6 comparable teams vying for 2 to 4 spots in the field. Between the committee getting SEC fatigue and the W/L records, a 13th win may become decisive.

Now that you got those emotions out, would you disagree with anything that I said about Little?
