I don’t know how far the bottle has dropped since you opened it, but I have found when it comes to BP/CS whisky always give it time to open up. Sometimes just pour your BP when you pour your first drink and let it sit til,you finish the first.

Yeh. I’ll give it time. It’s not bad by any means. Just hype vs expectations is all. Price wasn’t bad but for dollars vs style I prefer quite a few that are 20 dollars less. Just the game we play with bourbon.

I usually let a high proof glass sit a while before drinking. Poured this one while I was wrapping up a few things for the day and then came back to it.

High proof feel wasn’t the biggest issue. It just felt a bit lacking in flavors and mouth feel. Little thin.

I doubt time will make that thin feel go away. Finally won a bottle in our State Liquor Lottery, was hoping for the Van Winkle Reserve but won this Heaven Hill 20 year Corn Whiskey instead. Based on some reviews looks like,it will be a unique pour.

How’s that work? Are you assigned a bottle, or do are you assigned a number and you get to choose when your number is drawn?

So OHLQ (Ohio) has a Spring, Fall and Christmas Lottery. You enter through their website and get a virtual ticket. You choose the products that are being raffled that you would like a chance at. This time it was VWR, Michters 20, the HH 20 and a couple more. I usually always pick all the items. You have a week to,sign up when it closes the following Friday the computer draws and you are notified by email if you got a bottle. You go,pick the bottle up with ID at the liquor agency you specified during registration, You show your email and/or Drivers License. This raffle was drawn a month ago and they released the bottles today. You have 10 days to pick it up.

Helldiver was the first pour. I'll wait for it to open up before posting notes, but it's impressive

2pd was good neat, but I think it's going to shine in cocktails. Let's see.

Good evening gentlemen.

I cracked this a few days ago, but wanted to let it open up a little bit before posting impressions.

It's on the sweeter side (not surprising given the distillate) with some cinnamon and pepper to balance things out. There's a ton of fruit (cherry, apricot, citrus, figs) and a hint of chocolate. The sherry and cognac finishes add a good bit of depth. Not much oak.

Willett rye is one of my favorite pours for a cocktail, great in a Sazerac.

Finished this one off tonight after getting back from my neighbor’s house.

Definitely going to grab another.
