Maybe. But I shot the hell out of one in my youth and it was absolutely reliable. And because I was a crummy shot my shoulder took a beating. I just think many people had 2 3/4 chambered for lead shot and that was the demise when we had to go to steel shot. I'm sure the A5 shoots 2 3/4 steel shot fine. They are heavy compared to modern shotguns. don't know anything about a Browning Gold. I moved to Benelli and Beretta.
