re: Can’t stop thinking about work in the middle of the night.

My god, yes. I work in Finance and own a divisional P&L for a publicly traded company. The feeling of responsibility for hitting numbers I don’t directly control and knowing that enough misses will translate into job cuts is enough to stress me out 24/7. I have a working wife and have two toddlers on top of that.

Trying to balance it all is enough to break a man. I try to talk through it wife my wife but she doesn’t understand.

The one thing I’ve noticed in my professional career…whether it was right out of college or in my current role today… is I gravitate towards roles with more and more responsibility but hate it once I am there in that role. I do it to myself.
