I'd shoot one of each in the first morning hunt, pull a grand slam on their arse.

Have fun and enjoy the process. Everyone works hard and needs to enjoy themselves.

but you realize that you just shite in your on hat on this board, right?
Not sure why. I explained this will be my first time since I was a kid and it wasn't much then. I'm a new hunter and just posted what was from the website of the place I'm going to hunt. Definitely ignorant on the while process, but trying to learn and need to start somewhere.

Well, I'm out here. Thought we would be further out, so I still have reception. Sitting in basically a little shed with two chairs and it looks out over a feeder. No high fence that I can see, which is what the website states for the place I'm at.
I can shoot an 8 pt or bigger whitetail, no does yet. Also can shoot an axis.
My top two things I'm nervous about:
1. Taking a good shot, obviously don't want to wound one or gut shot.
2. Field dressing, but this one has been alleviated because they don't want you doing it on site. Hopefully I can go out with a friend or some of my family that will allow me to try doing it myself.

I'm just finishing up a hunt in Texas about 1.5 hours south of you. I shot three bucks so I will be making plenty of sausage shortly.

Good luck. Pro tip - just pretend you don't have service and enjoy the trip.

Good luck! Hopefully this rekindles a passion for hunting

I haven’t heard any shots. You back at the camp eating breakfast or what?

Only saw a few does, a spike, a skunk, squirrels, and some birds. Going back out at 1530 until dark. Also going out Saturday.

Axis deer is delicious.

Saw a 6pt at dusk and saw a spike shortly after that, then it was too dark and packed it up. Going to try again tomorrow.

Attaboy! Enjoy it! That's why it is called "Hunting" instead of "Shooting".

first time hunter.........go to the gun range and become one with the gun. Clueless gun operators get embarrassed

I sighted in at an indoor 100 yd range in Dallas. Checked it again two weeks before I left for this trip.
Went out again this morning, didn't see anything. Going back out this evening and then one last time tomorrow morning.

Keep us updated on the trip as it seems like a cool trip for a group hunt. Whats the initial cost and any other additional cost? How's the lodging?

I hunted with Mountain Creek one season. This was about 10 years ago so some things may have changed. I do know that the website looks the same and the trophy pics are the same as I remember.
Mountain Creek leases ranches for the members to hunt on. No high fence when I hunted there. You would meet at the Old Timer in Medina and they would take you to the stand on the particular ranch you were assigned for that day. It was fine but I saw very little whitetail and no exotics. I know conditions may vary.
I would say the area we hunted was over hunted. They were putting a lot of hunters on the ranches day after day. You could tell by the number of TP piles around the stands that some jackasses didn't bury.
Lodging was whatever you could find. I stayed at the Hill Country RV resort up 16 from Medina (toward Kerrvile). They had a few cabins, basically storage sheds with plumbing. It was all I needed. I brought food and drink but If I wanted a bar/restaurant/grocery you needed to go down 16 to Bandera.
It was fine for me at the time because I had not hunted in a long time. I did not renew my membership.
ETA: I saw 10 times more deer down 16 to Bandera at night. They were everywhere on the side of the highway. I realized I needed a cow catcher if I lived in that area.
